Continuing Education Seminars

OALI hosts three continuing education seminars each year. These seminars are provided to enhance learning and networking and to offer a means for investigators to meet the continuing education requirements of the Oregon Board of Investigators. Those attending these seminars are sure to accumulate the required hours.

OALI begins the year with the Spring Seminar, held in mid-March. In June, OALI hosts the Summer Seminar in conjunction with the Annual Business Meeting. The Fall Seminar is held in October.

The costs to the members for the seminars vary, depending on the cost of the facility and the projected number of attendees.

Seminar Tapes

Each seminar is videotaped. These tapes provide an alternative means to earn continuing education credits. However, members are encouraged to attend our continuing education seminars. This is because we wish to provide all members’ access to their peers to exchange information, ideas and the building of camaraderie. For that reason, the costs of the videotapes will never be less than the initial cost of the seminar itself.

The OALI Library

The OALI Library is a great source for information and training items. It is a membership benefit to get free postage paid to borrow books from the OALI Library. See the inventory list in the members area under "Files and Publications." Two CEU's per book for a total of 6 CEU's in a licensing period.

The OALI Forum

The OALI Forum is an e-mail discussion tool that members can use to ask questions, present problems, offer advice, and otherwise communicate with other OALI members. Members may click HERE to view the complete Forum Rules. They are posted in the members area under "Files and Publications"

The OALI Web Site

OALI maintains a web site at www.oali.org. The website is continually updated by the webmaster, and contains information about:

• The current Executive Board of Directors, Regional Directors and the OALI Advisory Panel
• The Past Presidents of OALI
• Conferences and Seminars
• By Laws
• The Code of Ethics
• OBI Board Certified Continuing Education Credits

The site also hosts our on-line Membership Directory, which site visitors can use to contact OALI members.

The OALI Referral Service

As a benefit to its members, OALI maintains both a web-based and service-based Referral Service that can be accessed by other members, attorneys and the general public. The backbone of this Referral System consists of both phone book and attorney directory advertising. The web-based Referral Service (www.oali.org) allows a visitor to locate an investigator by any of a number of criteria, including city and specialty. Our service-based Referral Service consists of a toll-free number (1- 866-584-8645) which will direct the caller to our website, as well as give information about OALI.

Web Hosting

EZHostingService has agreed to offer OALI members their $9.95 hosting package for only $4.95 per month. This hosting package includes FTP access, CGI-BIN, MySql, Microsoft Frontpage 2000/2002 Extension, and more. Their $14.95 setup fee will be reduced to $4.95. Errors and Omissions (E&O) Insurance
